Stroll for Wenjack | Terra Nova Nature Faculty

Final week marked our first annual Stroll for Wenjack.

Our staff has been working diligently for the previous a number of years on gaining a deeper understanding of the Indigenous peoples of Canada; their historical past and tales that are so wealthy and sophisticated. Tales of magnificence, braveness and love and plenty of tales which might be very traumatic and unhappy.  By these tales we see such resiliency and fortitude. We’ve all taken programs, learn a wide range of literature and in our personal method, performed some work in direction of reconciliation. This stroll was our dedication to reconciliACTION as a school- and to have included our kids and households felt very rewarding. We’ve a lot to learn- the way to be higher allies to Indigenous peoples- supporting true reconciliation and dealing in direction of a greater and extra equitable future. Thanks to all our households for becoming a member of us for this highly effective journey that all of us should take collectively. We’re proud to announce out Thompson Neighborhood Centre Herons donated $1370.00 to the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Basis.

In gratitude,
